Importance of BCHD Race: Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is among the largest preventive health agencies in the nation, and has served the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach since 1955. They offer an extensive range of dynamic health and wellness programs, with innovative services and facilities to promote health and prevent diseases in every lifespan. They have access to a lot of resources and funding and have a big impact on the future of safe cycling in our beach cities. This November 6, there are 5 candidates running for 3 positions on the board. We asked all the candidates about their stand on bike related issues and below is their reply. Manhattan Beach City Council Meeting Help the South Bay Bicycle Coalition approve a $100k bike lane plan for the city of Manhattan Beach. This plan would greatly expand the network of bike lanes in Manhattan Beach and help increase accessibility for bicyclists. July 12: Guided Strand Tour by Bike Join us on July 12 to take part in a guided sunset strand history tour by bike. We will be led by Chris Miller and Jan Dennis, both long time citizens of the South Bay. At every stop we will learn very interesting facts and tidbits about the South Bay community. May 3: Bike To School Day For Manhattan Beach Middle School

We're excited to work closely with Manhattan Beach Middle School, MBFD and MBPD for their 1st official Bike To School Day! On May 3, all Manhattan Beach Middle School students are encouraged to Bike To School.
