October Monthly Meeting Postponed – Come to the Hermosa Beach Forum on Sharrows

Our regularly scheduled monthly meeting which was to have taken place on Tuesday, October 19 is being postponed this month so that our members can instead attend an important meeting the following night in Hermosa Beach.

We ask you to please join us at the Wednesday, October 20 public forum on bike Sharrows in Hermosa Beach.  The forum is being hosted by the Hermosa Beach Public Works Commission at  7 p.m. in City Council Chambers to determine the success of the bicycle sharrows implemented on Hermosa Avenue earlier this year.  We urge all members of the cycling community to weigh in on this key issue.

The Public Works Commission also hopes to assess the potential of adding sharrows to other major Hermosa roadways with the help of riders and residents’ input.  The following questions will assist in the discussion:

• If you are a cyclist, do you feel safer with the sharrows on the road?

• If you are a motorist, do you know what the sharrows mean?

• Have the sharrows made a difference regarding safety, cooperation and egress?

If you are unable to attend next week’s forum, please submit your concerns, suggestions and observations to bikemasterplan@hermosabch.org or call the Public Works Department directly at 310-318-0214.

    Hi All:

I am wondering what the address to Hermosa Beach City Hall is and whether there is a specific room that we are to go to. Parking????
    See you there!

      Hi Cara,

The address for the Hermosa Beach City Hall is 1315 Valley Drive. Parking can be found in front of the facility as well in the adjacent Hermosa Self Storage parking lot to the south. The is also plenty of parking nearby to the south on Valley Ave itself.

      Hope that helps.

      Steve
