Hermosa Could Take Bike Lessons From Long Beach – From Hermosa Beach Patch.com

I have seen the future of Hermosa Beach transportation and one of the secrets to transforming not just this city, but all of the South Bay beach towns into healthier, wealthier and wiser places to live, work and play. I only had to ride my bike to Long Beach to witness it.

I was part of a group of more than 50 riders from the Beach Cities Cycling Club and the South Bay Bicycle Coalition who left the South Bay at 8 a.m. on Saturday to pedal a carefully plotted route from Redondo Beach to downtown Long Beach where we were met by that city’s mobility coordinator, Charlie Gandy.

Gandy is a highly respected expert in community design, trail planning, pedestrian advocacy and everything about bicycles.
